Safety Standards
Complying with International Safety Standards
1.ASTM F1918 for North America
ASTM F1918 specifies the safety and performance requirements for soft-contained play equipment. As a globally recognized standards organization, ASTM publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide array of products and systems. Joyland Playground has engineered, manufactured, and installed indoor playgrounds that fully comply with ASTM F1918. Our indoor playground solutions meet North American safety regulations and consistently pass all required inspections.
2.CPSIA for North America
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008, signed into law on August 14, 2008 (originally HR4040), establishes rigorous safety requirements for children’s products in the United States. Championed by Congressman Bobby Rush and endorsed by both the House and Senate, these regulations reflect America’s strict approach to kid-safe design. At Joyland Playground, every indoor playground we design, build, and install meets CPSIA mandates and associated high-level safety benchmarks across all stages—from material selection to final assembly.
3.NFPA 701 is a key North American standard
The NFPA has different rules based on fabric use. For textiles like draperies and curtains, NFPA 701 sets the testing methods to measure flame spread. It assesses fabric flammability when exposed to certain ignition sources. Joyland Playground’s indoor playground materials all meet NFPA 701.
4.EN 1176 for Europe
EN 1176 is a key European playground equipment standard, co – existing with EN 1177 to unify European criteria. EN 1176, covering EN 1176 – 10, EN 1176 – 1, and EN 1176 – 3, ensures indoor and outdoor playground safety. Joyland Playground, with years of European market experience, manufactures indoor playgrounds that meet EN 1176, facilitating compliance with local safety regulations.
